PRESS RELEASE

Great success of the 4th Italian Game Festival. It took place in the beautiful city of GRADARA (PS) between the 17 and the 26 of September 1993.


The entire city area was involved, with its pretty medieval settings: its streets, squares and palaces. Taste for games has been combined with the charm of the setting.

About 25.000 visitors took part to the event: people coming from different regions of the country. Such a great participation made the organization even set up new structures.

The Italian Game Festival confirmed with this 4th edition its importance as center of the italian ludic culture.

The Italian Game Festival also represented a great occasion to socialize, welcoming not only specialized people that could participate to very specialized challenges, but also kids, adults, families, children, elderly people, and everybody could find his game and his space.

Consequence of all this has been the great success of the playroom: more than 7.000 loans and this means that about 20.000 people sat around tables just for the fun of playing a game. During rush hours all the empty spots were filled up with people, even the lawn outside the playroom. 3.000 the inscriptions to the Tournaments.

More than 2.000 children coming from the neighboring schools visited the Festival and another 6.000 took part in it, directly in their classes.

The computer section gained space through the electronic game room, organized by Mc-Microcomputer, the telematic show-room, its 20 hardware platforms and the presentation of the most advanced ludic applications.

Many cultural spaces have been organized such as conferences, round tables, meetings, exhibitions, discussions and presentations.

BLABLABLA, won the GIOCO DELL’ANNO 1993 (Game of the year 1993). It has been decided by a jury whose President was Giampaolo Dossena.

The very same Giampaolo Dossena
has been awarded with the Prize Gradara Ludens.

At the end, the joyful prize giving of the Tournaments conducted by Marco Danè.
